Job purpose
Operate SR assigned area under the responsible Shift team Leader scope, acting as team player for the assigned area at Suhar Refinery (SR) by: (1) Monitoring, controlling, and maintain the operation of SR assigned unit(s) and equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines including but not limited to feedstock and slops/ flare facilities, product and components, loading, tank farm, oil movement, crude pipeline), and (2) Carry out regular outdoor (field) inspection of the assigned unit / equipment to identify any operational anomalies; in order to support the continue and safe and efficient operations of various processes and equipment within the assigned area.
The position will act in accordance with the Group’s Mission, Vision, Values & Strategies, as well as, policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, Omani’s government & other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives.
- Less than 2 years of relevant experience
- Oil & Gas , Refinery , Petrochemical industry experience, preferably in CDU units.
- Experience working as a process technician, production operator, or maintenance technician in a refinery, petrochemical plant, chemical plant, or similar facility.
- Knowledge of the refinery process and plant equipment.
- Knowledge of reading and interpreting P&ID and PFD.
- Safety Training in process safety, hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Certifications such as OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour General Industry Training and Process Safety Management (PSM) training may be required or preferred.
