Their journey began in 1935 when the first geological survey took place. In 1937, our Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, led an expedition of 16 tribesmen to the south-west of Abu Dhabi, where his vision for the development of the UAE’s oil and gas resources was born. He steered us in the right path, foreseeing abundant possibilities that lay ahead of us if we harness the rich hydrocarbon resources effectively.
